Abstrakt
Recent studies showed that species formerly recognized within the genus Lasiocephalus are deeply embedded in Senecio and therefore relevant names should be found or published in the latter genus. It was shown that the name Senecio sodiroi (Hieron.) Cuatrec., based on Culcitium sodiroi Hieron. and nomenclatural synonym of Lasiocephalus sodiroi (Hieron.) Cuatrec. cannot be used as it is a later homonym of Senecio sodiroi Hieron.
Therefore, replacement name, Senecio imbaburensis, is published here.
