The contribution is focused on description and evaluation of new educational materials aimed on medicinal chemistry. Medicinal chemistry is very important and interesting theme, closely connected to practical and common life.
Despite that, medicinal chemistry is not taught at Czech secondary schools or the attention devoted to the theme of medicinal chemistry is not appropriate. There are a lot of reasons for that, especially lack of time and, also lack of materials suitable for teaching of the medicinal chemistry at secondary school.
That's why a new set of educational materials was prepared, containing educational text supplemented with variety of tasks, games etc., presentation, and a set of laboratory worksheets. The contribution is focused on description of the materials devoted to medicinal chemistry, suggestions how and why to implement the materials in secondary school education and results of orientation questionnaire research, which deals with opinions and attitudes of students to the theme and evaluation of the laboratory worksheets.
The results of the orientation questionnaire research showed positive attitude of our group of secondary school students to medicinal chemistry, which they considered to be very practical and useful theme and majority of them would prefer implementation of suggested experiments into chemistry education. They also considered the prepared worksheets as well prepared and applicable in secondary school.
