Acute states in ophthalmology

Abstract

The authors present an overview of acute states in ophthalmology relating to ocular diseases caused by infection and inflammation, eye injuries and acute glaucoma. The following diseases of retina and optic nerve are presented: occlusion of retinal artery and vein, retinal detachment, acute optic neuritis and anterior ischemic optic neuropathy.

For each disease are discussed symptoms, complications and treatment.
