Osteoporosis in women with nutritional disorders

Publication at Faculty of Medicine in Hradec Králové |

Abstract

Osteoporosis and obesity are both high-incidence diseases and their prevalence in the population is on the rise. Fat cells and osteoblasts have common mesenchymal pluripotent precursors and influencing their differentiation is a potential avenue for therapeutic interventions.

The production of hormones in fat tissue has a dramatic influence on bone metabolism.
