Slow Progression of Liver Metastases Following Previous Ipilimumab Induced Stable Disease in Melanoma of Choroid. A Case Report

2013

Abstract

Melanoma of choroid is an infrequent but insidious malignancy. Typically, the tumor spread goes to the liver first, bringing a poor prognosis to almost all patients with this type of cancer.

Ipilimumab, an anti-CTLA antibody, has potential of eliciting autoimmune cytotoxic reaction against melanoma tumor cells and provide surprisingly durable anticancer response with prolongation of the patients ‘survival.
