Abstrakt
Astronomy data is stored in ancient FITS file format, which is not suitable for current high-performance computing. The FITS library is able to read the FITS file into the operating memory of the computer and provide necessary access to all FITS format features.
The FITS processor converts astronomy data stored in FITS format into a mixed data storage suitable for current hardware used in high-performance computing. Metadata is stored into a database, while raw data are stored as a column oriented files.
