Abstract
The contribution describes specifics during the processing of three dimensional models of the Earth within the TEMAP project. It focuses on special fields, in particular on the field of physical description, which is different from other types of cartographic documents and on the field of notes.
It informs of subject description of globes and of the differences between the description of globes and globe maps. It presents basic dividing of globes.
Finally it summarizes the results of cataloguing in the Map Collection, where it was described 83 globes, of which 14 are old globes. The exhibits were further restored, digitized and made accessible on separate websites as the first virtual collection in the Czech Republic.
Numerous examples and samples of bibliographic and authority records are enclosed. A vocabulary of basic parts of a globe forms an attachment.
