Bon religion in 11th-12th century Amdo: A case of Kyangphag Mula Drungmu (sKyang ’phags mu la drung mu)

Abstract
The paper deals with narrations on early Bon masters of Amdo. Though legendary in their nature, there seem to be at least a piece of historical reality behind them.
It stresses the role of early Bonpo religious specialists called zhig po. A master living in 11th-12th century in Thewo (Amdo) is approached then and his three survivng texts including his alledged authobiography.
