Abstract

The article highlights the need to evaluate the social risks in patients with the diagnosis of paranoid schizophrenia. It reports a specific case report of a patient with the diagnosis F 20.0.

Reported patient with schizophrenia has previously been assessed by a forensic psychiatrist for his behavior and socially dangerous. The expert recommended protective psychiatric treatment in ambulatory form.

This protective psychiatric treatment utterly failed and did not fulfill its purpose, in this case, in particular the protection of society. This fact played a crucial role in the further development of the case.

Inadequately treated patient, in the form of inadequate ambulant treatment, committed a homicide. The article points to the fact that patients with schizophrenia certainly may suffer immensely, but some of them, inadequately treated and also in the inadequate ambulatory conditions, may under the influence of the disease commit the most serious violent crimes.
