The overall conception of research is based on supranational level in the Czech Republic. The Lisbon strategy is professionally managed by the Czech Government Body, which is the Council for research and Development.
Science and research are implemented mainly at universities in the Czech Republic and closely cooperate with professional institutions. Educational research centres include workplaces at University, Ministry of Education (National Institute of Education) and the educational Research Association.
Specialized research centres have been founded in the faculties relatively recently. Educational research has intensively developed in the faculties from the 1990s, although there are some obvious shortcomings especially in management and coordination of educational research at the national level.
