Abstract
Laboratory diagnosis of infectious agents causing discharge from the female genitalia is based on the evaluation of vaginal microbiota and pathophysiology of vaginal compartment in the context of knowledge of epidemiology and clinical picture. The microbiological diagnosis based on a combination of microscopic examination (scoring systems) and cultivation, in case of trichomonads also on PCR.
