Abstract

The chapter is devoted to the evolution of marriage law and in particular, dissolution of marriage in the Bohemian Lands in the 19th and 20th century, when the key role was first played by the spouses' creed and then by state regulation. Real dissolution of marriage with the possibility of the former spouses to remarry was only brought about by Act No 320/1919 of the Czechoslovak Collection of Laws and Ordinances.
