The paper in the collective monograph, which was created on the occasion of the almost reached 80th birthday of the leading historian of modern Slovak history dr. Jozef Jablonický (*1933 – †2012), summarizes various responses to his life and work in a chronological order.
These written responses already emerged during his studies at the secondary school level and have accompanied his scientific career in various forms ever since. In the paper’s conclusion, references to some obituaries and condolences, which occurred in connection with his death, are also included.
The author of the article has also inserted to the chronological list of responses a number of quotations from these responses, as they represent a valuable authentic source for the understanding of the importance of not only Jozef Jablonický’s personality and scientific work, but also the period in which he lived and worked.
