Abstract
On the one side the review emphasizes the facts that the Tyrš´s biography is easily readable and offers plural, non-autoritative explanations. On the second side it focuses on the questionable interpretations of Tyrš´s life: the question of so called secular conversion, the Tyrš´s relationship to women´s emancipation and the national connoted hero narrative.
