Integration of psychotic experiences using the means of psychotherapy

Abstract

Psychotic disorders in various ethiopathogenetic and psychopathologic context are serious mental fenomena that tend to disrupt the functioning of mind nad its desintegration. Compensatory mechanisms for copying with such disorder are limited and their accesibility differs interindividualy.

There are many psychopharmacologic guidelines as well as nonpharmacological methods including psychotherapy and education. This paper presents general principles and rules for the psychotherapeutic reintegration of psychotic experiences.

They are based on group therapy with patients with schizophrenia and other psychotic disorders. This approach combines elements of the metacognitive approach with the narrative interrconnection of life events aimed to integration of psychotic experience into patients' daily living, accornig to their capacities and chances.
