A new species of the genus Phaenonotum Sharp, 1882, P. delgadoi sp. nov., is described from the Nipe-Sagua-Baracoa mountain range in eastern Cuba. The new species is diagnosed from other species of the genus, and compared in detail with P exstriatum (Say, 1835) and P. minor Smetana, 1978.
All specimens of the new species were collected by sifting forest leaf litter far from any known water source and the species is therefore likely terrestrial.
