Standards will lead to improving the quality of foreign language teaching in primary schools?

Abstract

This paper discusses the role of standards for the teaching of foreign languages in the fifth and ninth grades of primary schools in order to increase systematic evaluation and implementation of national standardized tests. On the basis of generally accepted goals of foreign language teaching - achieving communicative competence at the desired level as a comprehensive set of mastering language skills and linguistic devices are presented in this paper analyzes the results of newly developed standards for the teaching of foreign languages for the fifth and ninth grades of elementary school.

These results are then compared with the possibilities of testing the level of acquired knowledge and skills in foreign languages in the framework of the implementation of national benchmarks, taking into account various forms of testing and types of test items.
