Abstract
Essay brings the an interpretation of the body of work by the important Czech artist Jiri Balcar (1929-1968), who participated in the development of abstract art in the late fifties, and coming back from the art seminary in USA at the end of 1964 he become one of first and specific Czech pop artists. Eassy shows differents roots of his inspiration and indicates Balcar as a representant of the late modernity.
