Abstract
Publications From Modernism to the present 1945 - 2013 charts the art scene in the Brno area in given time period, and namely in the context of artistic trends unfolding throughout the Czech environment. Publication explores the influence of artists and creative artistic groups on shaping the development of Fine Arts in Brno.
In its research draws from primary sources of the collection fund of City Museum of Brno and from archival materials related to the lives and works of individual artists but also to that time political and social situation that retroactively reflected on development of creative endeavors. Publication focuses primarily on the arts of painting, sculpture, new media and performance.
From the scene thus excludes architecture.
