Back pain (BP) is a serious global health problem. The article highlights the different perspectives on this issue from the points of view of different types of classification and assessment of this issue.
In terms of etiopathogenesis of this condition we show the structural causes of BP. We also mention other factors that need to be assessed during treatment.
Back pain, which pass into the chronic stage have a significant bio-psycho-social context that have to be taken into account when treating the condition. In treatment of BP, various treatment modalities are applied, based on the complicated aetiology of the disease.
The article primarily focuses on principles of pharmacologic treatment, where different considerations apply for treatment of acute and chronic pain.
