Long-term durability of composite restoration margins in environments with increased corrosion risk

Publication

Abstract

Adhesive reconstructions in the oral cavity are exposed to a range of chemicals that can significantly accelerate the degradation of the adhesive bond and thus the lifetime of the reconstruction. The aim of the study was to clarify the effect of peroxide bleaches, disinfectants, oral hygiene products containing chlorhexidine and fluoride ions on the resistance of the adhesive bond formed by several different adhesive systems using microleakage and electron microscopy.
