Rehabilitation after total hip arthroplasty

Publication at Second Faculty of Medicine |
2013

Abstract

The main purpose of total hip replacement is to relieve hip pain and recover the lost mobility of the joint. The postoperative functionality of the hip replacement implant is closely tied to proper physiotherapy and rehabilitation.

The authors describe the various phases of the physiotherapeutic process and summarise the principles which, when followed properly, lead to a successful, full and quick recovery, allowing the patient to return to his or her daily life.
