Abstract
Antibiotic therapy is based on in vitro activity, clinical efficacy and safety and epidemiological safety. Right choice of antibiotic reflects its pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic properties.
The spectrum of causative agents of infections of the skin and soft tissues remains relatively uchanged in time, but their resistance to antimicrobial agents is increasing. This review brings an overview of the most frequent causative agents of skin and soft tissue infections and of basic principles of treatment.
Koqledge of local epidemiology is essential.
