The aim of our study was to compare the physiological and performance variables in young and adult top triathletes for the performance influencing and for the training checking. The members of the Czech national triathlon team were longitudinally evaluated in the laboratory on the treadmill and in the field.
The 84 men (63 juniors) and 44 females (38 juniors) were evaluated in the years 1996 - 2000 and the 53 men (20 juniors) and 18 females (13 juniors) in the years 2001 - 2004. The protocols were modified according to age and gender.
The results were assessed with help of normalised T-points according to Mc Call criterion. The T-points level were significantly correlated with a race performance in olympic triathlon.
The T-points were background of an individual training checking, and were used for an assessment of training induced changes in aerobic training state.
