Abstract

Study examines the fundamental transformation of Czech-French cultural relations between the years 1900-1950. Attention is paid to the situation after 1918, when the new Czechoslovak state builds its functional structure and conceives cooperation with foreign countries through scholarships and institutions.

The case of France shows czech links with the West and shows key concepts in emerging international cultural policy in the formation of elites.
