Abstract
In many international studies in education is currently promoting the term physical literacy. Most authors included as part of physical literacy some swimming skills.
In swimming there is the term physical literacy used for a long time and is historically associated with education in ancient Greece. Primary swimming literacy ensures safety of the person in the water and secondary swimming literacy uses benefits of water and physical activities performed in it.
