Our work is based on a long-term study of this issue, but mainly on the use of the basic methods of logical and factual analysis while teaching rescue and self-rescue. We've verified the content and the extent of self-rescue instruction from 1982 to 2013 during teaching water saving courses in which 4,340 students and course participants have taken part.
Based on this, we have established the general backgrounds and presumptions for mastering self-rescue in the water. Self-rescue is the process, knowledge and skills required in different conditions of self-rescue, evaluation of the situation and self-rescue plan.
