Fixed combination therapy of arterial hypertension - a position of fosinopril/hydrochlorothiazide

Abstract

To achieve blood pressure goals in patients with arterial hypertension, it is suitable in most cases - and often necessary - to use combinations of antihypertensives. The use of fixed combination is very convenient.

This trend is followed by pharmaceutical companies, too; many combination antihypertensives are available now. It was demonstrated that providing two suitable antihypertensives in one tablet increases the patient´s adherence to therapy, leads to more effective blood pressure control, lowers the incidence of side effects and - last but not least - has its economical advantages.
