Selfmonitoring and continuous glucose monitoring

Publication at First Faculty of Medicine |
2013

Abstract

Selfmonitoring of selected patameters (blood and urine glucose, urine ketones) plays an important role in improving glucose control by enabling the physician as well as patient to adequately adjust and individualize therapeutical regimen. Continuous glucose monitoring allows for a 24-hour glucose profile evaluation giving thus the opportunity to further enhance treatment efficacy while minimizing the risk of hypoglycemia.
