The aim of study is to determine whether the parameters evaluation to achieve the limit performance will different depending on fitness and endurance, or will independent of fitness. The sample included two groups of probands (representatives of the Czech Republic in a short triathlon (n = 23) aged 18.7 ± 1.78 years and non-sportspeople, students of the Faculty of Humanities, Charles University (n = 15) in age 19.5 ± 1.84 years).
To achieve maximum performance, we will use the test on a bicycle ergometer to vita maxima. At the end of the test were monitored selected values of acid-base balance and lactate levels in the blood.
Objectification of achieve subjective maximum performance was measured using the Borg scale of fatigue. We were able to find statistically significant differences (p ≤ 0.01) in the evaluation of parameters related to the metabolism of O2 (pO2, O2 saturation at Hb), also found a statistically significant correlation between the value of Wmax and saturation of O2 to Hb (r = - 0, 49, p ≤ 0.01) and Wmax and pO2 (r = - 0.35, p ≤ 0.05).
On the contrary, the two groups did not differ statistically when evaluating ABR (Hb, pCO2, pH, H+, BE, BB) and reaching the final lactate levels.
