Measurement of asymmetric loading musculus iliopsoas using MRI spectroscopic analysis in speed canoeing

Abstract

The aim of thus pilot study is to verify the assymetrical loads of m. iliopsoas when driving a speed canou using the MRI. We assume that when driving a speed canoe the unilateral loading leas to overloading of one of the m. iliopsoas and thus degenerative position of the pelvis and lumbar spine.

To determine the amount of intramuscular lactate in these muscle groups we use the MRI spectroscopic analysis.
