Abstract
New technological procedure of thermal treatment of modified Al-Mg-Si alloy 6110A (alloy EN AW 6110 modified by Zr) is based on exploation of heat from forgings during forging process. Depending on the strain and final cutting of the flash, the temperature of the forging is between 450 and 520°C.
In order to avoid separate solution treatment (510-540°C) of the cold forging, additional heating up to the temperature requested for solution treatment was included directly into automatic technological process. After the additional treatment a fast cooling followed by artificial aging in the temperature range 150-180°C / 6-12 hours was used.
