The article examines the quality of education on the basis of a comparative approach. Specifically, the research approach concerns the comparison of teaching literature (and the mother language) in the context of school education in the Czech Republic and in France among the pupils at ISCED 2 (lower secondary or second stage of basic education).
The article aims to understand specific aspects of current teaching programs, to compare the objectives and contents of the subjects, on the basis of the comparative method (curricula and other documents), where we will find both identical and different points of view.
