Abstrakt
Acute scrotum in children is characterized by acute changes of the scrotum and/or of its content, like pain, oedema, change of colour and consistence. An emergency differential diagnosis is required to manage appropriately and to prevent irreversible changes.
Author describes the most common causes of acute scrotum with a special attention to natural history, value of diagnostic tools and evidence for management.
