Abstract

The book is another publication associated with a series of publications on the topic ""Ethics and communication in medicine"". The topic of the publication""Lege Artis"" in this regard is borderline, but the number of liaison issues clearly prevails.

We decided to reach a relatively large team of experts from various fields of science to put together a work that will deal with the topic of lege artis in a relatively complex way. It is not a textbook or exhaustive work on the subject.Th is is a monographic publication that consists of facts, fi ndings and opinionsof representatives of major peers.

Th e book is introduced by a quite large part ofthe legal defi nition of the lege artis in the sense of ""appropriate levels of healthcare services"" as defi ned by the Health Services Act. This section is a legislative definition of the problem and its relation to clinical practice.

The second partis an clinical view on the issue. Th ere is not an overview of all branches ofmedicine, because it would be beyond the scope of this publication.

Th e third part of the book deals with the lege artis issuies in a broader and more general context - for example, historical, ethical and psychological. The publication represents interesting publication that is suitable for physicians of all specialties.
