Roman Imperial Mints of the Third Century (235-294) 1. Maximinus Thrax - Aemilianus (235-253)

Abstract

Functioning, history and characteristic features of the particular imperial mints producing the imperial coins during the 3rd century AD are studied. The study was divided into three parts because of the volume of information, and the individual parts will be published gradually.

This section was produced in connection with revision of the catalogue of the Roman imperial coins of the 3rd century AD preserved in the collection of the Charles University in Prague. It is aimed as general information for the numismatic public based on the new numismatic literature.

In some cases, entries basically using RIC 4.3. have been revised and completed.
