Abstract

Linguistics Prague 2013 is the first year of a linguistic conference designed primarily for postgradual students, advanced pregraduate students and postdoctoral linguists in the Czech Republic. The conference provides a forum for presenting linguistic projects and studies among students across different linguistic and philological disciplines.

It is aimed (by means of workshops) at active, recent and empirically grounded approaches to linguistic research, based on use of various kinds of tools for linguistic analysis. The first year consisted of workshops devoted to exploitation of language corpora, description of minority languages, specific questions of syntactic research, pragmatics, critical discourse analysis, and specific features of spoken language and its recording.
