Global capitalism and standardization of adult education - two examples

Abstract

The text deals with the economic and political background of the contemporary institutionalization of adult education. It states that the current forms of institutionalization are close to standardization and instrumentalization of the researched area.

The application of the concept of human capital seems to be the cause of such a development. The text pays special attention to the critical perspective of transformation of approaches to informal learning and the use of benchmarking in education policy.
