Abstract
The author deals with the problems of the usage of arenga (preamble), the formulae of charters, which contained general information and commonplaces about the matter in the charter, in the oldest charters of the Bohemian rulers (till the end of 12th century), the connection of arenga with the content of the charters and political-propagandistic function of arenga.
