Language rights in the Slavic countries : Czech Republic

Abstract

This chapter describes the current status of implementation of language rights in the Czech Republic by region: the Constitution, the legislation governing the media, cultural institutions, language issues in the context of citizenship, entrepreneurship, education. Other questions concern the problems of terminology: the use of terms such as the state language, the official language, the language of public relations, internal and external language paperwork, teaching language, the national language, written language, etc., as well as the concepts of minority, minority language, etc.
