Abstract

The article deals with globalization in social sciences and education policy. It describes the differences and tensions between research for education policy and research of education policy.

The first attitude is analyzed in connection with scientisation of education policy making, that often legitimises the policy. The second approach is analyzed in connection with the need of critical approach towards the mainstream of current education policy that is constructed mainly by the OECD and the EU.
