The Miscellanies of Mattheus Beran

Abstract

Analysis of three codices written by Mattheus Beran, Augustinian Canon from Roudnice nad Labem (Raudnitz) during the first decades of the 15th century. They are: Prague, Library of the National Museum XVI E 11 (a sermon collection, the so called Confundarius minor from 1417), Prague, National Library I.F.35 (a miscellany, the so called Confundarius maior, written in exile, partly in Erfurt 1421-1431), and Prague, Metropolitan Chapter Library, Prague Castle Archive N.53 (a miscellaneous ms. with a number of mediecal texts written partly in Erfurt, then in Bohemia 1437).
