Abstract

Pulmonary Langerhans cell histiocytosis is a rare disease of unknown etiology that occurs predominantly in young smokers, with a peak incidence between 20-40 years. In adults, it may occur as a disease affecting only the lungs, characterized by focal granulomas Langerhans cells and destructive distal bronchioles.
