Abstract
This paper presents the research The Character of Czech-Polish Language Contact within the Polish Community in Prague and some of its results. This research was put through in the period from March to December of the year 2011.
The immediate objective of this research was to map the basic language strategies of Poles in Prague. In this study is analyzed the attitudes of Polish residents of Prague to the Czech language and also the language of the minority - specifically strategies of the cultivation the minority language or their absence.
The analysis of the language minorities culture were investigated three main issues, the importance of Polish for the Polish national identity, issues of the minority education and the question of the generation language transfer.
