Abstract
The article treats of teaching closely related languages. This issue is examined on the pair Ukrainian - Czech as a foreign language.
The author describes Ukrainian native speakers as a target group in teaching Czech and focuses on paticular aspects of teaching/learning process: consideration of a learner's mother tongue, application of a contrastive approach, a work on interferences etc. The prime attention is paid to questions of writting Czech instructional materials (textbooks) for Ukrainian learners.
