Abstract
Methods of effective / efficient reading (speed reading, rational reading, fast reading) can be useful in working with information on a personal level. Reading at the turn of the 20th and 21th century is often put in context with reading of electronic documents and information retrieval and online searching.
Online reading or screen reading are also mentioned as forms of present time. Reading from printed documents and electronic documents have common cognitive foundations, but remain different.
Both of them can become more efficient in speed of reading and content analysis. Methods and means of effective reading can be learned together with better attention and concentration
