The digital divide paradox as a key obstacle in the realization of information society

Abstract

In his lecture, the author presents the key problems of the link between information society theory and digital divide research. The major part of the lecture consists of confrontation of digital divide research building blocks with available empirical evidence.

After introducing the resulting digital divide paradox, an alternative model of digital divide is presented.
