Abstract
Thousands of plant species have been moved around the world through human activities. Many of these have become established and have spread from introduction sites.
This article reviews the concepts and terminology applied to plant invasions, and the history and current extent of the problem. A short overview is provided to the key phases, stages, and processes in plant invasions.
Various approaches for management are outlined and prospects for the future are considered.
