Abstract
Almost forgotten , rarely mentioned and practically untapped history of Czech social work profession hides very challenging material for the curent profession. The source of information about the original form of this profession are archival sources and contemporary literature.
Among them is also based publication " Tracing the history of Czech social work in the years 1918 - 1948 ", which is narrowly focused on the profession of social work carried out in the period of the First Republic of Czechoslovakia , the forgotten achievements in the field of acceptance , the development of the educational system or the application of theories and methods to the public and private practice. As inspiration for today serves mainly achievements made in the field of social work in the community, residential care , social work or education in the form of lifelong education of social workers.
