Abstrakt
The book chapter focuses on the literary, cultural and social context in respect to translation of the work by August Strindberg into Czech. Firstly, an overview over translation into Czech since 1890 (the first translation) up to our days was given.
Secondly, a detailed analysis was given concerning the first important era, i.e. years 1890-1900. The analysis focused on the function of the Educational Library project and the agency of the publishers of Moderní revue journal. (A version of a previous conference paper.)
